Funding

CARTM is a not-for-profit community service organization, wholly supported by the community it serves. The majority of our funding comes from local donations of reusable items sold in the resale store. Revenues also come from fees charged for trash and from the sale of recyclable materials, although this just offsets our costs for these services. We rely on grants and generous donations from our community. CARTM does not receive government support or tax dollars.

Volunteering

There are lots of ways to volunteer at CARTM. Ever want to whack a vacuum cleaner with a sledge hammer? Wonder what’s inside a microwave? Not your cup of tea? How about sorting and pricing donated items, or bottles and cans? Cashiering in the store? We have jobs to please everyone!

It’s easy. Just give us a call at 503-368-7764 to make an appointment - or drop by for a chat and we’ll find the perfect placement for you.

CARTM is currently accepting applications for employment.

Any open positions are announced on this website and with signage at CARTM. Applications are available all year at the cash register in the Re-Use Store. We review prior applications when positions become available.
